Before SIHH 2019 comes around in just less than a month’s time, brands have been giving us a tease of what’s coming up. And for Jaeger-LeCoultre, they’re introducing the Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel (Ref. Q13635E1).
The Master Ultra Thin line that has been a mainstay for Jaeger-LeCoultre for over 20 years. But the new Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel is only a 100-piece limited edition watch. You’ll see a new hand-guilloché blue enamel dial, new hour-markers, a new polished moon, and a new engraved counter. The extremely thin case in white gold (10.04 mm) conceals the Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 925 engine, an automatic mechanical movement with a 70-hour power reserve.
The elegance of the new Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel really comes down to the characteristics of its guilloché blue enamel dial. Its deep captivating blue brings to light the geometric motifs and the relief effect characteristic of guillochage, a traditional decorative technique. Executed completely by hand by a few artisans trained at the Manufacture, enameling requires extreme concentration and infinite patience.
Connoisseurs are sure to notice the new design of the hour-markers, which are longer and split into two at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. In an aperture at 6 o’clock, the counter that houses the polished moon phase has been engraved, a way of bringing out the numerals indicating the date.
