It was not until a few years back when we began to see gold making their in-roads into the consciousness of the watch and jewellery trend after decades of sitting in the shadow of its white siblings. They have now became the main choice sitting prominently next to white gold, platinum and even palladium, and they come in every shades—pink gold, rose gold and red gold. Now they are joined by another hue in their palette, yellow gold, the original shade of gold, which at one point was the most highly in demand as it represents the purity.
Audemars Piguet is introducing yellow bold back in a bid to put it in its original prime position, and it won’t be long before other watch brands follow suit. At SIHH 2016, it made a very strong presence in the Royal Oak range, aptly as the range has always been the rebel of the family. The king of precious metal can be found in Royal Oak Chronograph, Royal Oak Selfwinding in the men’s and Royal Oak quartz for the ladies in 33MM. After not seeing it for so long, the colour looks rather radiantly fresh and bright.
It's quite a beauty isn't it?
