Soon You'll Only Need To Charge Your Phone Four Times A Year
That's just once every three months.

The daily struggle of charging your phone could soon to be a thing of the past thanks to a new energy-efficient processor.
According to reports, the new technology could mean you'll only need to charge your phone once every three months.
It's all thanks to researchers at the Universities of Michigan and Cornell who have created a new magneto electric multiferroic material (we have no idea what that means either) which uses 100 times less energy.
You see, the current processor in your phone needs a constant flow of electricity, which means sending and receiving data quickly eats up your battery. However, processors built with magnetoelectric multiferroic systems will only require a short burst of juice and will preserve your battery.
It's not just a good thing for you either. Electronics currently eat up 5% of the total global energy, which is expected to rise as high as 50% by 2030 - so energy-efficient processors like this could have a big impact on our energy footprint.
Now we just need something that can sort out that "storage almost full" message we keep getting...
