Nintendo Continue Their Nostalgia Rampage By Re-Releasing The NES

It's 1985's must-have gadget!

It's hard to blame Nintendo for getting a little cocky.

They currently have the entire Western hemisphere under a nostalgia-induced spell with 'Pokemon GO', and their share prices are up 50 percent since the game's release.

But, Nintendo, mate, come on: rereleasing the NES—a console from 1985—and charging £45 for the privilege? It might be a little too early for that particular victory lap.

The Japanese gaming giants are set to reintroduce the much-loved Nintendo Entertainment System (which is now called the 'NES Classic Edition') in November.

There'll be a few changes: it'll be palm-sized, have 30 in-built classics to play, and be connectable through HDMI, so that you can finally gaze at all 8-bits in crystal-clear definition.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to play your old cartridges on it (because they're now bigger than the machine itself). Here's a complete list of the games that'll come along with it:

  • Balloon Fight
  • Bubble Bobble
  • Castlevania
  • Castlevania II: Simon's Quest
  • Donkey Kong
  • Donkey Kong Jr.
  • Double Dragon II: The Revenge
  • Dr. Mario
