Your iPhone 7 Could Be Out Of Date In Less Than A Year
It's all about the iPhone 8 now.
If you are one of those lucky, chosen few with an iPhone 7 (and a set of wireless headphones) then maybe look away, because it looks like your glistening Piano Black® SUPER phone could be out of date in less than a year.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple's next smartphone will likely come with an OLED screen, instead of the regular old LCD ones built into the iPhone 7, and could debut as early as next year.
The claim is that Apple's Asian suppliers have been asked to increase production of "thinner organic light-emitting displays" and submit prototypes with better resolution than ones made by rivals Samsung.
While an OLED display would have the benefit of both increased screen quality and flexibility, it would almost certainly mean the iPhone 8 would take another price jump due to production costs.
Although, there's also a good chance that Apple may decide not to release the model because it is "one of more than 10 prototypes being considered."
