In the post #MeToo era, men’s roles are changing. The mainstream perception of masculinity is changing. “Toxic masculinity” has no place in our society. The image of manhood is no longer defined by only strength and power. But what constructs this new form of masculinity? The new BOSS Bottled Infinite EDP attempts to define that with a little help from Chris Hemsworth.
“I think being a man of today is about integrity, honesty, respect, humility and empathy. Having a greater awareness of your place in the world, your effect on others, how you can support those within your circle of friends and the larger community across the globe. I think the responsibility of every human being is to have a greater positive effect on the world we live in together,” Hemsworth says in an exclusive interview with Esquire Malaysia.
Raised in the countryside of Australia, Hemsworth spent a fair bit of his life growing up in nature. “The BOSS Bottled Infinite campaign is about getting away from the busy bustle of cities and getting back to nature. It was all centered around the ocean, which is my personal place of grounding, the place I love the most,” the Avenger star adds.
Despite his Hollywood superstar status (and schedule), the 35-year-old actor seems to have managed his worklife balance rather well, often spending much time on his own as well as with his wife and three kids offline. “I think it’s a reminder to everybody to just take stock, to pause, sit back, appreciate this moment. It’s about going to the place that gives you a sense of grounding and allows you to escape a bit.”
And the scent reflects his needs for the day: fresh, unique with hint of oceanic. It opens on a refreshing top note of mandarin and apple; warm notes of patchouli, rosemary and lavender come together at the masculine heart with an olivewood and sandalwood-base.
