Under Armour is becoming a sportswear giant, especially after buying over MyFitnessPal in 2015. Its advancement into technology is making serious moves against their global competitors (watch out Nike). The recent launch of their HOVR series brought a ‘connected’ fitness experience to Malaysia.
Have you ever wanted to take a run and detach from social media and your phone but still want to monitor the progress of your workout? Under Armour may have engineered a solution. It works by connecting your shoe to your phone and tracking your running metrics using the Under Armour’s MapMyRun app. You can leave your phone at home and return to see how much calories you’ve burnt, the distance you’ve gone and the duration of your journey.
Ambassador Jeff Lau demonstrating the shoe's technology. Runners will be able to evaluate their precise progress and check their historical data, allowing better pace prediction and planning for future runs.
One of the new releases is the HOVR Sonic 2, designed to ensure you have a smooth run regardless of how advanced your training is (who says only athletes need sleek kicks?). The enhanced cushioning creates a flexible responsive transition so your feet don’t undergo too much pressure as they hit the pavement. The cushioning technology is durable enough to absorb impact and deliver energy in return, which would then improve your running performance. The HOVR Phantom SE (Sports Edition) in black is our favorite for its anatomical-shaped collar and engineered mesh for added breathability.
The HOVR Suite collection including the HOVR Infinite HOVR Sonic 2 and HOVR Phantom SE will be available in Under Armour brand houses and online stores nationwide.
