What do you get when you combine the British flare of Lewis Hamilton with the classic Americana DNA of Tommy Hilfiger? A streetwear capsule collection with an urban edge that perhaps will appeal to a different generation of Hilfiger fans.
Shades of bright pink and purple are what you’ll see in this Spring 2019 campaign (not the colours you’d usually expect to see on Lewis Hamilton) marking a departure from the brand’s signature red, white and blue colours. The tattooed-racer dons pastel colours in everything from sustainable cotton jumpers and extended hoodies to dip-dyed gradient t-shirts and even, uhm, questionable pairing of white socks and black slip-ons.
Shot by photographer Mikael Jansson, the campaign’s vibrant lights and bold colors capture a different side of the F1 champion while featuring his personal style combined with Hilfiger’s signature sportswear. Oversized “CREATE X UNITY” graphics go alongside the “LH” logo which has evolved to a minimalistic design that celebrates the Tommy Hilfiger flag logo and the British racing driver’s initials. The optimistic yet relatable spirit at the heart of the Tommy x Lewis collection gives a new meaning to LA streetstyle and living life in the fast lane.
