Virgil Abloh x Converse Chuck Taylor 70. Explained
Rolling out soon, just in time for back to school: the last of The Ten.

If you missed out on your chance to own a piece of sneaker history earlier this fall, Virgil Abloh's "The Ten" series has one last—but emphatically not least—pair left in its release. Rumoured to be dropping early 2018, the last of "The Ten" is a remixed Chuck 70 with a white(ish) upper and an icy blue sole. We managed to get our hands on a pair for a closer look.
Some context for those who have been living underneath a rock this year: Virgil Abloh, the creator of Off-White (and recent winner of the 2017 Footwear News Achievement Awards "Shoe of the Year" for his work on one of the sneakers in this one-of-a-kind collaboration with Nike), has taken the Converse Chuck 70 silhouette and made it his very own. The deconstructed take on the iconic American sneaker is part of the “Ghosting” half of this series, meaning it’s done up in translucent (and sometimes transparent) textiles that let all the seams and construction details of the shoes show through.
It’s an approach that clearly takes a lot of effort—and time. Perhaps that’s why we’ve had to wait a while for the last silhouette in the series to finally make its way to the public. Any which way, it’s certain to sell out in mere moments. Take your first look here, then keep a close eye on retailers as we move into the new year.
