Paul Smith surfs the aquatic for its Spring/Summer collection. Paul Smith the man is a regular visitor to Japan, and was inspired to use two graphic fish print motifs throughout the collection after coming across vintage Japanese food packaging.
The collection includes casual wear, evening wear and accessories. Patterns, including tuna and mackerel motifs, are embroidered on ties, belts and other leather accessories.
The authenticity of the motifs qualifies the optimistic vibe of the collection. It's attractive without being gimmicky.
New tailored pieces for SS18 include jackets with a strong shoulder line, with a single button for a sharp and precise structure, with ticket-pocket detailing. Vivid, solid colours such as purple and bottle green are used to tie the tailoring collection together. This signature palette is used for both casual and evening wear, showing the versatility of the Paul Smith jacket. The latter's 1970s-style is incorporated with ocean print embroidery.
