Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director Virgil Abloh is a busy man. For the past couple of months not only has Abloh showed the Fall/Winter 2019 collection for LV, he also launched a number of new accessories lines and pre-collections, all while juggling his own label and side job as a DJ (we wonder where he gets his energy from).
This month sees the arrival of Staples Edition by Louis Vuitton—an all-inclusive collection that redefines wardrobe staples. Amplifying cuts, techniques and fabrications, Abloh put together a wardrobe filled with pieces made of the finest cotton, cashmere, denim and leather. The palette is kept neutral with classic tones of off-white, taupe, grey, blue and black.
The Staples Edition is easily identified through four indicators exclusive to the collection—a single button with an exquisite stitching of the LV logo; a classic house leather triangular tab; a leather tag fastened to a carabiner, showing how to properly store your garment; and a metal staple (of course) engraved with the LV logo. For a collection that emphasises the basics, the Staples Edition is going to be anything but.
