Working Out In Nike Zonal Strength Tights
Just don't call them 'meggings'.
Encouraged by our brothers and sisters at Men’s Health and Women’s Health, I decided to give the new Nike Zonal Strength Tights a try. The goodfellas at Nike also decided that it was a good idea to invite a national gymnast (and her coach!) to train us so that we could really feel the stretchability (uhum, pain) of the tights.
So, national gymnast Farah Ann conducted a training session with us – she leaped, bounced and flipped so gracefully, without breaking a sweat.
While we, on the other hand, looked like that.
After the intensive session which Farah called ‘warm up’, I could feel that the tights do give enhanced support in the core, glutes, quads and hamstrings. Also, the high-rise waistband provides an additional core awareness, which is important for all training exercises, whether you're doing calisthenics or cross-fit -- the flat seams allow for zero distractions.
For runners, there’s another pair of strength tights designed especially to support your thighs and calves to reduce muscle 'vibration'. (I think that's what it's called.) The Flyvent waistband provides breathability and the four-way stretch fabric enhances mobility, especially for the hips and knees. Another plus point is they look pretty stylish. Time to upgrade your gym wardrobe.
Nike’s Zonal Strength Tights for both men and women are in stores and nike.com at RM469.
