Dior Homme's Gold Capsule Collection Is An Elevation From The Usual Silver
Time to go for a bolder, gold choice.

This would be one of the last capsule collections that we’ll see from Kris Van Assche for Dior Homme, now that ex-Louis Vuitton menswear creative director Kim Jones has officially taken the reins as the house’s latest artistic director. For 11 years, Van Assche has consistently pushed Dior Homme forward—from a line of luxurious athleisure, to its recent strong sneaker game. Still, he never forgot the soul of the house—the signature sharp black suit and white shirt carved with the codes of the founder.
The Belgian designer—often minimalistic with a steady colour palette with shades of black, grey, and sometimes red or green—is also one who is very much characterised by his attention to details (taking classic men’s tailoring, deconstructing, then re-constructing it as an art form). Let’s just say that despite the constant acceleration of the fashion industry, there will be glimpses of Van Assche’s signature in later works.
So, how does one breathe new life into a capsule collection for the Autumn 2018 season? Precious golden details, that’s how. This offering elevates the norm—giving it a bolder, brighter look compared to the usual silver. And for those who love the black-gold combination, the only question you probably now have is: why did it take so long?
The gold contrasting details found here are on its ‘Christian Dior Atelier 3, Rue de Marignan Paris’ signature logo on an all-over print on a shirt, sweatshirt or leather derby shoes, while the iconic Dior Homme bee gets embroidered on its t-shirt, jacket and the pocket of its black jeans. Gold hardware and detailing also appears on its small leather goods and shoes. Play it sharp with a strong suit or in a less formal approach with their sweatshirts; whichever you choose, these looks still possess the balance of sharp stylish men—just a little fancier. Now, isn’t it time to go for a bolder choice?
