Nike Free RN Motion 2017

Tried and tested and survived the roads of Bukit Bintang.

One morning in Pavilion Shopping Mall (so early that the mall was not opened), Nike invited us to a trial run session to try out their new Nike Free RN Motion Flyknit 2017, in Bukit Bintang.

At 9am, while most of you were on your way to work, we joined an actor, a DJ Duo and a fitness instructor to a warm up session in the middle of Bukit Bintang (you know the famous cross junction between Starhill and Pavilion?), which got us some funny looks from passersby.

Nike running coach, Sue, then brought us on a morning run where we passed by some of Bukit Bintang’s poshest addresses. As atas as the areas are, little did we know that the roads in KL are so badly maintained: pathways are uneven, potholes are aplenty, and drain holes are spotted at almost every 100 meters. Fortunately, we survived the trial, so did the shoes.

In fact, at one point, the shoes were so comfortable I almost felt like I wasn't wearing a pair. The sock-like fit, Flyknit fabric wraps the ankle and foot for a snug while the lace-less, two-strap system allows us to customize the fit, and the best thing is, I don’t have to worry about laces coming undone!

The flexibility is also incredible since the shoes are designed for a more natural type of running; especially great for newbies like us who are just starting to train for the upcoming Night Run by our brothers and sisters at Men’s Health and Women’s Health. For regular runners, according to Sue, there are great for recovery runs.

Other than the seamless comfort, these runners are also super stylish (we love the triple black version, btw). We think you can even wear it straight from the gym to a date night and still nail the athleisure look.

Nike Free RN Motion Flynit 2017 is available at Nike outlets and online at RM589.
