Jerry Seinfeld's car collection just got significantly smaller. The comedian sold 15 of his prized Porsches for a total of USD22 million at the Amelia Island Auction in Florida on Sunday, CNN reported.
Shockingly, these 15 cars only represent about 10 percent of Seinfeld's car collection.
The crown jewel of the collection was the 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder, which fetched a staggering USD5.3 million on the auction block. Seinfeld also sold a 1959 Porsche 718 RSK and 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 for USD2.9 million and USD2.3 million, respectively.
"The room was electric from the beginning and the crowd's intensity only grew when Mr. Seinfeld joined [Auctioneer Charlie Ross] and me on stage to present his stunning offerings," said David Gooding, the president of auction house Gooding & Company.
"I don't really even think of myself as a collector. I just love cars. And I still love these cars. But it's time to send some of them back into the world, for someone else to enjoy, as I have," Seinfeld said in January.
You can check out all of Seinfeld's sweet rides offered up for sale on the Gooding & Company website.
