Ever wanted to know if you're getting it on as much as everyone else? Well here's something to either make you feel bad about yourself, or unbearably smug.
Researchers from the Kinsey Institute For Research in Sex, Reproduction and Gender studied the frequency of sex by age group and found 18-29 year-olds are getting it on twice as much as those in their 40s.
The research centre, which is part of Indiana University, found that 18-29 year olds were having sex 112 times a year or twice a week.
The study showed a distinct and depressing decline in sexual activity as we age, with 30-39 year-olds getting hot and heavy 86 times per year, or 1.6 times per week.
The 40-49 year-old category dropped again to on average 69 times a year or 1.3 times a week, suggesting that as you get older either the quality of sex becomes more important than the quantity or that most couples by that point can't stand to be so near to each other more than once every seven days, depending on your outlook.
Interestingly the study also found that millennials who reached young adulthood around the year 2000 have the most sex out of anyone. Maybe all that time on our phones isn't killing romance after all?
