Henry Golding To Star Alongside Matthew McConaughey And Kate Beckinsale In Guy Ritchie's 'Toff Guys'
What a massive year for Golding!
Here’s the latest: Guy Ritchie is set to direct a new British crime drama, Toff Guys which will see Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Golding together with Kate Beckinsale and Matthew McConaughey.
Ritchie, who has made classic British gangster films such as “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” and “Snatch” will direct and produce this new drama from a script he wrote with Marn Davies and Ivan Atkinson. The story revolves around European “old money” and the modern marijuana industry, and follows a British drug lord attempting to cash out on his highly profitable empire by selling it off to a dynasty of Oklahoma billionaires.
According to Variety, Miramax paid USD30 million to pick up worldwide rights to the drama at the Cannes Film Festival. And production is set to start this fall in England.
It’s been one big news after another for Golding. From his breakout role in Crazy Rich Asians which grossed more than USD220 million worldwide, to working with director Paul Feig on not one, but two films, A Simple Favor and Last Christmas.
