Johnny Depp's ex-managers are countersuing the actor and claiming his extravagant lifestyle is to blame for his recent financial troubles.
A countersuit which was filed by The Management Group (TMG) on Tuesday (via USA Today), alleges that the star spent $3 million to shoot author Hunter S. Thompson's ashes out of a cannon, and over $75million on 14 homes, including a chain of islands in the Bahamas.
The lawsuit also claims that Depp spent nearly $20 million on a150-foot yacht, $4 million on a failed record label, and $30,000 a month on wine.
It also maintains that he spent $200,000 a month on private planes, and $300,000 on 40 staff members.
"Depp, and Depp alone, is fully responsible for any financial turmoil he finds himself in today," the lawsuit states.
Earlier this month (13 January), Depp had accused TMG of defrauding him of over $25 million, and failing to file his taxes on time which cost him nearly $6million in penalties.
Depp claims that TMG hid his finance issues from him, and that he only became aware of the situation when the company advised him to sell a property in France to pay off his debts.
Joel and Robert Mandel of TMG allege that they kept him fully informed of his financial affairs, and that he still owes them $4.2 million.
Depp's attorney has stated: "How cataloguing alleged spending by Mr. Depp of his own money could somehow absolve the defendants of their large and multi-faceted mosaic of wrongdoing will ultimately be determined by the Court."
