It has been non-stop excitement for Malaysia’s music scene this year, and many are still recovering from the post-concert blues. With barely enough time to soak in all the good tunes from last month’s Good Vibes Festival, followed by a flawless live performance by rapper Anderson .Paak, we’ve been graced with yet another awesome event coming up soon.
Founded in 2002, Urbanscapes is the longest-standing creative arts festival in Malaysia. Its aim of bringing the Malaysian community together to indulge and celebrate the diverse fields of music, the arts, design, film, and other creative disciplines has certainly been successful in past years. The community centred festival has grown to include the best worldwide, with the belief that great things happen when people of all different backgrounds come together.
This year doesn’t disappoint. Get ready to revel in Urbanscape 2018’s incredible line-up. It includes acclaimed acts such as Khalid, whose debut single “Location” peaked at number 16 on the US Billboard Hot 100, the immensely talented alternative rock band Wolf Alice, and the quickly emerging singer-songwriter star Phum Viphurit.
The sweeping festival will take place this year between 3 November to 18 November, under the theme of #REIMAGINEKL. It revolves around the concept of creating diverse experiences throughout the city, collaborating on arts, ideas, and music. Pace yourselves, the festival is spread across three weekends, with each weekend jam-packed with shows and productions.
Tickets go on sale starting 16 August.
