Heís bringing Atlantis to Venice, ship us there!
Damien Hirst, the controversial artist is back. And this time, he unveils the best kept secret of the art world, “Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable,” a project ten years in the making and about which little has been revealed.
The vast exhibition includes 189 odd objects made out of crystal, bronze, silver and gold where Hirst reveals no more, preferring that the show be "a voyage of discovery." The exhibition finds diverse cultural inspirations from Aztec, Inca, Ancient Egyptian, Roman and more. Hirst tells BBC that his new exhibition cost him more than GBP50m, “a lot of money.” We think that time and money definitely paid off. Spectacular work.
"Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable" is on display until December 3 at Palazzo Grassi in Venice. See more here: palazzograssi.it
