Here's Who Cristiano Ronaldo And Lionel Messi Voted For 'FIFA Best Player Of The Year'
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have been diplomatic over recent years, trading platitudes whenever the question of their supposed rivalry pops up.
Sure, they'll have a Zoolander-style walk off each year at the 'FIFA World Player of the Year' awards, donning eccentric suits and year 7 disco-quantities of hair gel, but you'll never hear them laying into each other over the media.
But they're the two greatest players in the world, perhaps of all-time, so needless to say that the enmity is very real. As indicated by their respective votes for the FIFA Football Awards.
Neither chose the other, instead opting for their teammates. Ronaldo picked out Luka Modric, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo, and Messi went for Luis Suarez, Andres Iniesta, and Neymar.
A representative for each country is allowed to nominate three players for the gong, alongside media from each nation. Ronaldo ended up clinching the vote, getting England captain Jordan Henderson's backing along the way.
