This Giant 'RIP Taylor Swift' Mural Is Not Funny

The backlash is getting out of hand.

Maybe it is just us being a little sensitive, but isn't the Taylor Swift backlash getting a little out of hand?

The star—whose recent feud with Kanye West has seen her trolled on Twitter and generally 'taken down a peg or two' by social media's infinite army of angry losers—has now been immortalised by Melbourne street artist Lushsux in a mural marking her 'death'.

Lushsux—who incidentally also made news with a mural of a naked Kim K (below)— could be offering a shrewd commentary on the melodrama of celebrity culture and the perniciousness with which we first idolise and then destroy our stars, or he could just be trying to flog a few more prints.

Either way we don't really blame them, but really, isn't it time we stop taking sides in celebrity playground fights and show a little more respect to a woman who has reached the zenith of popular culture on merit and hard work? No? OK.
