Go for a unique style of Japanese-Thai cuisine with mum on her special day.

Mother’s Day is approaching and what’s a good treat without the presence of good food? Show her love by bringing her to Ploy, a Japanese-Thai restaurant. This flavourful 4-course menu has been created especially for Mother’s Day and you’ll be able to pick the dishes to suit your liking, or have your family members choose one each to share, so everyone gets a bite of the different umami flavours.

Ploy Miang Kham

Start your meal off with the refreshing snacks of Unagi Tacos (unagi, crispy rice, Thai basil and sesame seeds enveloped in a cucumber taco) and Ploy Miang Kham (smoked scallop, ikan bilis, young ginger, lime, shallot and gula Melaka in a betel leaf parcel).

Sliced Tuna with Green Mango

For the appetiser, choose from fish or chicken. We personally suggest the Sliced Tuna with Green Mango, giving a fresh tangy flavour from the Ponzu citrus-based sauce yet with a spicy flavour from the chili puree, but the Chicken Paitan Soup, a nourishing herbal soup made with exotic black chicken and salted bamboo is just as good.

Kochujang Crispy Chicken

Pick from the Mains of Pan Seared Grouper in a red onion cream dashi, a class of soup and cooking stock with asparagus and iceberg lettuce or a finger-licking-good Kochujang Crispy Chicken with white miso and chili, sesame seeds and romaine lettuce. We’re even entering Korean grounds with the savoury, spicy, and pungent fermented condiment. But for those who aren’t fans of Korean food, worry not as Ploy has done it in a non-overpowering way.

Last but certainly not least, get your stomach for dessert ready for ‘My Mom is the Bomb!’  A sphere-shaped chocolate filled with hidden treasures, only to be unveiled when warm fudge is poured on top. Giving a spoiler of contents here, but there will be red velvet cake, lemongrass and pandan mousse, and an ‘I Love Mum’ butter cookie. Now, we’re ready for a long night of celebration with drinks.

Ploy is located in Damansara Heights and Publika. This 4-course Mother's Day meal is available on May 7 and 8 (lunch and dinner). Click here for reservations.
