Last chance to see: a stellar dining experience

Dr Who sets the table in the Tardis

It starts with a prosecco outside a black box decorated with gold, foil stars. "Find Your Lucky Star" say the words across the front.

It's not that big a box physically, until you step inside. There's room for just 12 fellow travellers. If you're piqued by the question, “How do we make our dreams come true?” you might be one of them. The black box is designer Emma Maxwell's “Find your Lucky Star” pop-up restaurant concept, in her signature layered, eclectic style.

She says you should step across the threshold of the external austere and rigid structure, and be swept from the chaotic and bustling streets of Kuala Lumpur, into an immersive, otherwordly experience. Everything in the box is custom-made for the occasion, from the table of mirrored glass and spheres of crystal and reflective decor to the custom, solid chairs in which you embrace it all.

As an ode to the year and festivities, Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel hosts “Find your Lucky Star” in collaboration with chefs Francois Mermilliod of the famed French restaurant in Singapore, Bar-A-Thym, and Gaetano Di Stefano of Villa Danieli, the Sheraton's signature Italian restaurant.

You dine suspended in time, a blackness of stars revolving around you, the Milky Way "within your fingertips", and dreamscapes fluttering above your crown. Then find your star and make a wish.

If you're feeling lucky, it's yours until today, 29 December, available for dinner, 12 guests only. RM 438 nett for a 6-course dinner with wine pairing or RM 388 nett with mocktail. Reservations, (03) 2717 9900.
