It’s not like we weren’t already fans of Rami “Mr Robot” Malek, we now getting real excited for the Queen biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” set to screen next December. In this photo still shared by EW, Malek is seen in Mercury’s signature looks of slicked back hair, thick moustache, and jeans -- an uncanny resemblance indeed! Malek says, "When you're able to open your eyes and see a different person staring back at you in the mirror, it’s a very affirming moment," the actor told EW of his first time in hair and makeup.
#RamiMalek is #FreddieMercury in this exclusive first look at 'Bohemian Rhapsody.'👌🏻The Bryan Singer-directed film (out Dec. 25, 2018) chronicles #Queen from 1970, when Mercury teamed with Brian May and Roger Taylor, until the band’s performance at Live Aid in 1985, six years before the singer died of complications from AIDS. If you’ve tried karaoking to Bohemian Rhapsody, you’ll know no one can emulate Mercury’s four-octave range. Hence, the film will feature Mercury’s vocals or Malek’s vocals. Malek adds, “We’re going to use Freddie as much as possible and use myself as much as possible. I’m in Abbey Road [Studios] right now if that should say anything to you. I’m not working on my acting.”
The biopic, named after one of Queen’s biggest songs sees the band from the beginning in 1970 to their 1985 Live Aid performance, six years after Mercury's death. Bryan Singer (X-Men franchise), director of the biopic says his approach to this film is through the angle of honoring the music of Queen and “It won’t just be the dark Freddie story. It’s a celebration."
