Under normal circumstances, anticipation for a new Quentin Tarantino movie would be pretty intense. But, when it comes to an ensemble cast, Tarantino has outdone himself with his upcoming Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which includes some names like: Margot Robbie, Burt Reynolds, Timothy Olyphant, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, Damian Lewis, Luke Perry, Emile Hirsch, Dakota Fanning, Clifton Collins, Keith Jefferson, Nicholas Hammond, James Marsden, Julia Butters, and Scoot McNairy. Oh, and also a couple of gentlemen named Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio.
So, let's just say, expectations are out of control. And today DiCaprio shared the first poster for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which is the stuff dreams are made of. Take a look:
Yep, that's Pitt and DiCaprio together in throwback Hollywood casual. And yes, that's Quentin Tarantino's name below them. Go ahead and name a more iconic trio. In the background looks to be the car that appeared in some set images shot of the two during production.
DiCaprio plays a fading former western TV star named Rick Dalton and Pitt is his longtime stunt double, Cliff Booth. The film is loosely based around the 1969 murder of Sharon Tate, played by Margot Robbie. As Tarantino said about the film in a statement:
Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor…Sharon Tate I’ve been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was seven years old. I’m very excited to tell this story of an L.A., and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore. And I couldn’t be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio & Pitt as Rick & Cliff.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is due out in July, and the first trailer for Quentin Tarantino's ninth movie is now imminent.
