Singer, songwriter, musician, and coolest living Englishman Bryan Ferry has collaborated with Swiss watch brand H. Moser to create a limited-edition timepiece called the "Endeavour Small Seconds Bryan Ferry." The result is as elegant as the esteemed crooner's style-god status.
Remarkably entering his seventieth year, Ferry is looking better than ever, and is currently midway through a worldwide tour supporting his latest solo album Avonmore. But even from his early years as the frontman for Roxy Music (not to mention his decades-spanning solo career), Ferry was an innovator.
One of the first performers to combine elements of music, art, and fashion to build an all-encompassing image, he went on to become a global fashion idol. Best known for his wide-shouldered tailored suits (made by British fashion designer Antony Price), Ferry's look was both influential and exacting: part Savile Row dandy, part Hollywood movie star, part pulp fiction gangster, all perfectly balanced.
It should come as no surprise, then, that those high standards have also been applied to his newest endeavour: creating an extremely limited-edition collaboration with the masterful watchmakers at H. Moser. The entire run is comprised of only 100 pieces.
Based on a historical pocket watch from the brand's archives, the 38.8mm, 18 karat rose gold watch features a matte white lacquered dial with crisp black-and-red details, contrasting blue hands, and a small seconds indicator located at six o'clock. The mechanical, hand-wound, in-house movement features a three-day power reserve with the indicator discretely hidden, visible only through the sapphire crystal exhibition case-back.
The most important detail on the watch is perhaps its most clever and understated. Perfectly illustrating the subtlety of Bryan Ferry's enduring style, the dial stamp "Swiss Made"— located at the bottom edge of the watch dial, practically hidden from view—has been quietly replaced with the name "Bryan Ferry." It's the only visual indication that the stylish limited edition was designed under his legendarily tasteful eye.
