The One Style Move Even David Beckham Can't Pull Off
Please don't do this.

It pains me to see it—hell, it pains me to even type it—but style icon David Beckham has made a rare (unheard of, really) fashion misstep. We do applaud his bravery for the attempt, however. When you're in a style category as elite as Beckham's, you're almost duty-bound to take risks. But not even Becks was able to land this popped bro collar.
If you're aren't familiar with the popped bro collar, it's your basic popped collar, but it's popped on the type of shirt commonly seen among your standard-issue bro and/or '80s high-school movie villain. You know: your rugby shirts, your polo shirts, even, occasionally, your oxfords. Perfectly fine shirts on their own—well, the rugby shirt can be tricky, which makes Beckham's attempt that much riskier—but once the collar is popped, they become something else. Something evil.
As a frame of reference, this is the type of insufferable asshole who loves to pop his bro collar. Now Becks, of course, is light years away from being a collar-popping bro. In fact, by pretty much all accounts, he's a genuinely stand-up guy. Which makes this whole thing that much harder to bear.
Now there are collars you can pop when it comes to fashion. But generally they're on jackets—peacoats, officer's coats, even a denim trucker jacket. Popping the collar of your shirt, on the other hand, is almost impossible to pull off. Totally impossible when it comes to the bro collar.
But you know what? We're okay with Beckham's attempt. Because without taking risks, he would never have become the style icon he is today. After all, he did have to go through this:
To get to this:
Keep reaching for that limit, David.
