This Cringe-Worthy Ad Just Won an Award at Cannes

This ad just won a Bronze Lion at Cannes.

A bronze medal for what? you might ask. For cringe-worthiness? No, not that. It won because a jury of advertising experts thought it was really, really awesome.

 


 

The ad, designed by the Brazilian AlmapBBDO agency for Bayer, is supposed to be funny. It is supposed to mean you need two types of aspirin: one for filming sex with a woman, another for dealing with the fallout when she discovers it. I think. Maybe you need two types of aspirin for dealing with the fallout? It's unclear. But, yeah. It laughs off the act of filming a woman having sex without her consent. Which, last time anyone checked, was never, ever okay.

Sure, give the creators a bronze medal at the largest festival for creative marketing in the world. That's not gross at all.
