Nelly Finally Explains Why Kelly Rowland Texted Him On An Excel Spreadsheet In The 'Dilemma' Video
It's been 14 years and we still need answers.
Did you slow dance with the girl you thought was the love of your life at high school to Nelly and Kelly's seminal love jam, 'Dilemma'? If not, then the below probably doesn't apply to you—but if so, listen up.
In one particularly troubling scene in the music video, Kelly was distressed that Nelly was not replying to her messages. "WHERE YOU AT? HOLLA WHEN YOU GET THIS" she typed away... into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
14 years have passed and still we are none the wiser as to why she picked this unusual method of communication which was unlikely to yield a reply.
Our prayers were answered last Friday when Nelly appeared on TV show The Project and revealed what had been going on: "That was the thing at the time. That was the new technology at the time. It looks a little dated now, I can see that,"
So not exactly the answer we've been waiting for, but at least he is as aware as us of how stupid it looks. It is almost as good as this moment in Unthinkable where Samuel L Jackson manages to defuse a nuclear bomb by typing random text into an excel spreadsheet.
Such vast and varied powers.
