Music lovers are set for a treat for the next few days as KL's premium nightlife destination, Le Noir KL brings down Marshall Jefferson, Carl Dupree (Phuture Sole Recordings) and BadBadNotGood to perform on November 25 and November 29.

Le Noir KL Presents Marshall Jefferson & Carl Dupree

Sometimes known as the father of house music, Marshall Jefferson was originally a record producer in the Universal Recording Studios in Chicago, where he met the owner of Trax Records, Larry Sherman. Jefferson's 1986 single for Trax, "Move Your Body (The House-Music Anthem)," was a popular and influential song in the genre. During the late-'80s heyday of house music, Jefferson recorded solo and collaborative materials under various names such as Virgo, Jungle Wonz, Truth, and On The House.

Having his work appear in the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, playing on house-music radio station SF-UR and also Michael Winterbottom's film 24 Hour Party People as well as 1991 documentary film Paris is Burning are just a few examples of commercial recognition that Jefferson has garnered so far. Now living in Machester, UK, Jefferson is still touted as a legend amongst house music accolades.

Meanwhile, fans of soulful dance music are in for a treat as Carl Dupree brings his soulful sets and killer garage music. A hip hop kid growing up, Carl began gigging around the New York metropolitan area making his mark there where his first professional gig was at the infamous Peppermint Lounge in New Jersey. Since touring UK, Dupree has established a huge fan base in the UK and has since launched Phuture Sole Recordings, a label to be the helm of uptempo soul music in New Jersey. For the past decade, through the label, Dupree has been showcasing many talents and have invited other artists, producers, remixers and DJs to perform.
