Last year, at the debut of his Yeezy collection with Adidas, Kanye West also debuted "Wolves," a single from The Life of Pablo featuring Sia and Vic Mensa. This week, the video debuted on YouTube. It is a love letter to all things loved by Kanye—including Kim, fashion, and Kanye.
Where Kanye's last music video, "Famous," was unpolished, grainy, and embattled, the video for "Wolves" was buffed until it shined. Kanye did continue his penchant for famous cameos in "Wolves," though with a whole lot less wax and decidedly more clothing. Let's count 'em: Alexandra Ambrosia, Cindy Crawford, Joan Smalls, Francisco Lachowski, and, of course, Kim Kardashian-West. There are probably more, but I lost them in the flashing lights.
Also appearing: Kanye's tears, an extraordinarily large wig covering Sia, and Kim's tears.
The video is presented by Balmain, who dressed Kanye for the Met Gala, and Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing served as the video's creative director. So, with one seven-minute dazzle of bejeweled monochrome, it appears Balmain cemented its claim on the Kardashian-Jenner-West clan. Guesses on how much they paid Kanye for the honour?
