Who Is Arnold On Westworld? Now We Know.
But let's also talk about what's inside Dolores. Spoilers follow.

Well, we wanted answers, and Westworld sure as hell delivered them. There's a lot to delve into from Episode 9.
Arnold is Bernard! Or, more specifically, after Arnold was allegedly killed by Dolores (as she puts it), Dr Ford rebuilt his partner to help him run the park. In other words, Bernard is a robot zombified version of the guy who built consciousness into the hosts. This, as I see it, introduces two main problems. Arnold, the mystery man everyone is looking for to provide answers at the center of the maze, is actually dead. And although Bernard was designed to look like Arnold and help build the park, he doesn't actually have the knowledge that the actual Arnold did (right?).
So, uh, does no one remember or know what real-life Arnold looked like? Wouldn't there have been someone working in Westworld who would have noticed that a major employee looked exactly like one of the park's famous founders?
There were other twists tonight, too. Logan, that douche, gutted poor Dolores in front of William. Inside we saw some old bronze gears twisting away.
That's how the hosts looked in the early days, before, as the Man in Black put it, they were rebuilt to be "this sad, real mess, flesh and bone, just like us."
This likely means what we're watching with Dolores, Logan, and William is taking place in the past and supports the multiple timeline theory. This would also support the theory that William is the Man in Black, which may explain their intense encounter in the church at the end of the episode.
However, it's also possible that since we know Dolores was the first host, she also was just never updated to the flesh and blood model.
Anyway, check back later for more on all of this.
