Weekend Of October 8-9: Some Happenings To Get You Off The Couch And Moving
Featuring a play on languages, a beer festival, a zinefest and H-Artistry.
The Language Archive
George is a linguist, an expect at archiving dying languages of the world. But even he finds it impossible to say the right words to keep his wife, Mary, from leaving him. With her gone in search of happiness, George struggles to record the words of Alta and Resten, the last two speakers of a rare language as they refuse to utter a word to each other. The Language Archive is a quirky imaginative comedy that explores if language is really enough for us to understand each other. With director Ghafir Akbar in tow and Gavin Yap taking the role of George, this play is set to make us think, laugh and smile. Head over here for more details.
