All Is Amazing

The much anticipated Urbanscapes 2016 kicked off the first show in its lineup, featuring Australian psychedelic rock band, Tame Impala. The sold-out show saw 2,500 fans lining up as early as 4PM to catch this 2016 Grammy-nominated act perform live for the first time in Malaysia.

With confetti blasting in celebration, the curtains were raised, revealing lead singer Kevin Parker and the rest of the Tame Impala members. They officially opened the night with their hit "Let It Happen”, immediately bewitching the crowd. The show continued with steady momentum, complemented by a mesmerising light and graphics show.

But alas, fans were bummed for awhile when Tame Impala seemingly ended the set early, but perked up again before coming back onstage for the curtain call. They performed  their iconic tune "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards” before closing with a phenomenal rendition of “New Person, Same Old Mistakes” accompanied by a final blast of confetti.

With the show being just that good, we bet nobody that night wanted to be over when it was. And there is one thing that we know for sure–Tame Impala is an absolute class act.

Urbanscapes 2016 will run festival activities in Kuala Lumpur until May 8.
