Save The Turtles With Beer
Turtles can now feast on edible and biodegradable six-pack beer rings.

The six pack beer rings made by Saltwater Brewery will provide marine life with food, instead of forming aquatic nooses for turtles like regular rings (whatever you do today, do not Google Image search ‘turtle six pack ring’).
As the promotional video for the edible rings explains, around a million seabirds and 100,000 marine mammals and turtles get trapped in plastic products dumped into the sea, or eat it and die.
Not these ones, though. Saltwater Brewery’s rings are made from beer by-products—wheat and barley waste—which are fully biodegradable (around three months in seawater) and can be eaten by marine life without adverse effects.
The handcrafted brew merchants—who operate out of Delray Beach in Florida—claim that their six pack rings are the first that are 100% biodegradable and edible. Current environmentally-friendly alternatives are either made from cardboard or recyclable plastic, which still pose a danger to marine life.
Imagine, if every environmental solution was tied to alcohol, we’d probably clean up the ocean and patch the ozone by the next World Cup.
