Man Marries His Smartphone
Not legally, because it’s not allowed. Yet.

It’s contrived self-promotion, and meant to illustrate the most banal of messages, but props to filmmaker Aaron Chervenak for actually going through with marrying his smartphone.
Chervenak says in the video that “we connect with our phones on so many emotional levels. We look to it for solace, to calm us down, to put us to sleep, to ease our minds,” which to him, is everything a relationship is.
Echoing Stephen Colbert marrying his own hand, Chervenak took the metaphor to the logical conclusion, and found a chaplain in Vegas that was willing to declare him and his phone man and… phone.
The newlyweds couldn’t exactly exchange rings, so Chervenak built a ring into his phone case. The wedding is, of course, just a Vegas wedding, and not recognised by the state. At least not yet.
The video can’t decide if it’s straight cringe comedy, mockumentary or stoner experiment taken too far (or not far enough). Or it’s just hard to tell because he looks like a not-all-there New Age guru who sincerely believes in his own profundity. But you can watch it anyway here:
