Airbus subsidiary Airbus APWorks GmbH has been working on something really special. With the technology of 3D printing set to change the way we live, the company has developed what they regard as the world's first 3D-printed motorbike. Dubbed Light Rider, the motorbike weighs at around 35KG only (probably the world's lightest motorbike) and can go from zero to 80 KMPH in a few seconds. By utilising a selective 3D laser printing system, APWorks moulded the melted minuscule aluminium alloy particles together which in turn creates a web like frame on the bike. The bike is silent, emission-free and powerful as it is fitted with a 6kW electric motor.
