This Is Europe's "Top Tourist Attraction", And You've Probably Never Even Heard Of It
It was voted for by hundreds of thousands of travel professionals.
The World Travel Awards have named Belfast's Titanic museum as Europe's top holiday destination.
Which is weird on a number of levels, isn't it? It's a macabre tribute to the 1,500 poor souls who met their icy end way back in 1912, which doesn't exactly scream "fun holiday snaps!". Also, it looks like a sixth-form college for robots.
Located on the exact spot in Belfast where the ship was constructed, it's actually designed to look like the ship's four hulls and interior. Inside, you'll find replica cabins, artefacts, artwork and photos.
It opened in 2012—100 years after the ship's sinking—and has since been visited by over 3 million people. The attraction was voted for by hundreds of thousands of travel industry professionals.
So it comes highly recommend. Book a flight over there, if you've got the guts.
